Your medications, ready before you leave
As part of our usual discharge process, prescriptions are sent directly to ESPH Pharmacy so your medications can be prepared before you leave hospital. This allows our pharmacy and clinical teams to work together, helping to ensure that your medicines and instructions are clear and appropriate for your recovery.
Supporting your complete surgical journey
- Before your procedure: Prescriptions may be sent to the pharmacy in advance so required medications can be organised before your admission.
- During your stay: The pharmacy supports the medication needs of both day surgery and overnight patients.
- Before you leave hospital: Your discharge medications can be prepared onsite and delivered to you before you go home.
- Pharmacist advice: A pharmacist can explain new medications, changes to your usual medicines and how to take your treatment safely.
- After discharge: You can contact the pharmacy team if you have medication-related questions during your recovery.
Having your medications prepared onsite means you will not usually need to visit another pharmacy after your procedure. It also gives the pharmacist an opportunity to clarify any questions directly with your hospital care team before you leave.
