Associate Professor Carolyn Jameson is an experienced weight loss and general surgeon who has been recognised as a Surgeon of Excellence in Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery. A/Prof Jameson takes a holistic, empathic and caring approach to patient care. Patient safety and quality outcomes are the principles by which she conducts her practice. A/Prof Jameson is a gold contributor of data to the National Bariatric Surgery Registry and a member of IFSO, ANZMOSS and GSA.

A/Prof Jameson graduated from The University of Sydney in 2001. She completed advanced surgical training through Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2011 followed by post-fellowship training at Westmead Public and Private Hospitals. A/Prof Jameson has extensive post-fellowship training in bariatric surgery, kidney and pancreas transplantation, head and neck surgery and in surgical oncology.

A/Prof Jameson specialises in weight loss, obesity, metabolic and general surgery and medical management of obesity. A/Prof Jameson regularly performs laparoscopic hiatus hernia repair, gallbladder removal, umbilical and inguinal hernia repair, excision of lipomas and skin lesions and upper and lower endoscopy (gastroscopy & colonoscopy). Weight loss procedures include gastric balloon insertion, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and revision bariatric surgery, including gastric band removal. A/Prof Jameson works closely with a team of dedicated allied health professionals including dietitians, physiotherapists and psychologists to provide holistic care for her patients.

As an award-winning educator, A/Prof Jameson teaches medical students through The University of Notre Dame, junior doctors, surgical registrars and surgical fellows. A/Prof Jameson is an examiner for RACS, a member of the NSW-ACT State Training Committee and Hospital Supervisor of Training.
