Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon

 Dr Davor Saravanja is an orthopaedic and spine surgeon specialising in spinal problems, including complex deformity (scoliosis, kyphosis), tumours, degenerative and paediatric spinal conditions. 

After completing an orthopaedic fellowship in Australia in 2007, Dr Saravanja travelled to Vancouver, Canada to complete a fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery. He worked for over a year with world renowned spine surgeons Dr Marcel Dvorak, Dr Charles Fisher, Dr Michael Boyd, Dr Brian Kwon, Dr Scott Paquette, and Dr John Street at Vancouver General Hospital. Dr Saravanja also spent six months working with Dr Chris Reilly and Dr Firoz Miyanji at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital, specialising in Paediatric Spinal Surgery. 

Dr Saravanja is involved in numerous research projects and has completed world leading research in the field of primary bone tumours affecting the spine. He has also published numerous articles on spine surgery. Dr Saravanja runs an Australian Orthopaedic Association Fellowship Program whereby fully qualified surgeons from overseas train under Dr Saravanja for a period of one year, gaining further knowledge and education in the sub-specialty of Spine Surgery, and a Fellowship qualification. 

Dr Saravanja is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Australian Medical Association, the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also the Secretary of the Spine Society of Australia.
